Wayne McCoy (Plainview)

Wayne McCoy, 84, of Hale Center passed away on Wednesday March 7, 2012 in Plainview. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Hale Center Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cameron of the First United Methodist Church in Hale Center officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 5 to 6 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. McCoy was born on January 3, 1928. He served in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged. He farmed in the Hale Center Community for many years. He served as a member of the Hale Center Volunteer Fire Department, He was also a member of the Hale Center Civil Defense. He was a Baptist. He married Dodie Rawls on March 21, 1948 in Lubbock. Survivors include his wife, Dodie McCoy of Hale Center; one niece, Cheryl Bitters and husband Rick of Wisconsin; 2 Grand Nieces, and 1 Great Grand Niece. Preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Mattie McCoy, and two sisters, Aretta Harris, and Jean Nivens. Memorials may be sent to your Favorite Charity.
