Tulia, Texas—John David Saldana, Sr., 57, died Thursday, March 15, 2012. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. John David was born July 23, 1954 in Tulia to Federico and Adelina Saldana. He grew up here and attended Tulia schools. He married Maria Basaldua on June 16, 1972. He worked for Tulia Ford and Tri-State Ford as a mechanic. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. He is preceded in death by his father; Federico Saldana. He is survived by his wife: Maria Saldana of Tulia, one daughter and son-in-law: Amanda and Anthony DeLeon of Tulia, two sons and a daughter-in-law: John David Saldana, Jr. of Tulia and Josh and Claudia Saldana of Tulia, his mother: Lena Saldana of Amarillo, two brothers: Federico Saldana, Jr. of Amarillo and Raymond Saldana of Amarillo, three sisters: Gloria Barrera of Amarillo, Barbara Alvarado of Amarillo and Delia Ybarra of Plainview, one grandson: John Aaron Saldana of Tulia and three granddaughters: Marissa DeLeon of Tulia, Maisie DeLeon of Tulia and Zuriah Saldana of Tulia.
