Lorene Velma Sands (Plainview)

Lorene Velma Sands, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 2, 2012 at First Christian Church with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Sands was born on February 5, 1920 in Matador, Texas to John Martin & Belva Kingery. She married John Sands on July 20, 1948. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter: Debbie Arnett & husband Steve of Irving; three granddaughters: Allison Arnett Thayer of Irving, Alexis Gebhardt of Haltom City and Kendra Arnett of Burleson and one great grandson: Richard Thayer of Irving. She was preceded in death by her first husband: William E. McDaniel; one son: Bill McDaniel Sands; four sisters: Ruby Goates, Ruth Armstrong, Dorothy Powell and Betty Martin; one brother: David Kingery and her parents: John & Belva Kingery.
