Tulia, Texas—Ronald Eugene “Skipper” Watson, 66, died Friday, April 6, 2012 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 9, 2012 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Bob Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Skipper was born September 14, 1945 in Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma to Lawrence and Cecile Watson. He moved to Texas at the age of 7. He attended schools at Kress and graduated Kress High School in 1965 He joined the US Navy in Feb.1966 and was discharged in Dec. 1966. He married Sharon Lemoine on February 7, 1967 in Kress. They lived there until they moved to Tulia in 1973. He worked for Cletus Dobbs farms for several years and Roll-a-Cone for several years and he retired from TXDOT after 14 years of service. His family incudes his wife: Sharon Watson of Tulia, his children: Keisha Ashley and husband Sheldon of Matador, J.D. Watson and wife Amanda of Tulia and Chris Watson of Tulia, one brother: David Watson of Kress, three sisters: Martha Wydrick of Del Rio, Brenda Walters of Albuquerque, NM and Melinda Arney of Mooreland, Oklahoma, six grandchildren: Colby Ashley of Kunsan Air Base in South Korea, Tamra Ashley of Tulia, Colton Ashley of Kunsan Air Base in South Korea, Peyton Watson of Tulia, Presleigh Watson of Tulia and Paxton Watson of Tulia and one great grandson: Xzaebrian Ashley of Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Johnny Watson and one sister: Katherine Scarbrough.
