Darla Faye Russell Davis (Plainview)

Darla Faye Russell Davis, 47, of Hart passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Hart. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Darla was born September 7, 1964 in Littlefield, Texas to James and Emmie Russell. She grew up in Plainview and in Hart and graduated from Hart High School in 1983. She married Doyle Davis on May 25, 1984 in Hart. Darla was a mother to all that new her as Ms. Darla. She worked in the Daycare at her church and was very active in all her children’s activities. She served as Band Booster President, 4-H Leader, and a Boy Scout leader. She also taught Sunday school for many years. Darla was survived by her husband Doyle Davis of Hart; one daughter, Melanie Davis of Canyon; one son, Christopher Davis of Amarillo; one step-son, Jeff Davis of Canyon; her mother, Emmie Russell of Olton; two brothers, James Russell, Jr. of Ropesville, Wayne Russell of Olton; three grandchildren.
