Tulia, Texas—Ed Barton, 64, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia with Rev. Donna Nelson, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Ed was born March 23, 1948 in Amarillo to William Wesley and Vivian Barton, Jr. He attended schools in Amarillo, Boys Ranch and Carlsbad, NM. He graduated from Carlsbad High School. He joined the US Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. He drove a bus for 26 years. He married Kathy Smith Gales on February 7, 2000. He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother: Juanita Barton, a brother: Robert Barton and a stepson: William “Bob” Gales. He is survived by his wife: Kathy Barton of Tulia, one daughter: Berkett Williamson of Amarillo, one son: Bryan Barton of Amarillo, one step-daughter: LaTonda Stout of Tulia, two brothers: Rodney Barton of Driftwood, Texas and Gary Thornberry of Amarillo, one sister: Joyce Nelson of Amarillo, four grandchildren: Hayley Woolsey, Brayden Woolsey, Aubrey Barton and Bryan Barton all of Amarillo, two step-grandchildren: Kirah Calhoun of Hartley and Seth Stout of Lubbock and 5 great grandchildren.
