Judy Waller, 69, of Hale Center passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Rev. Robert Malcolm of Western Heritage Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Judy was born September 21, 1942 to Hollis “Cotton” and Betty Thorne in Muleshoe, TX. She grew up in Plainview. She married R.W. Waller November 13, 1964 in Plainview. Judy was a homemaker and a waitress. She worked at Nu Griddle, Elks Lodge, and Rocking R’ Steak House for many years. She also worked as a nurse’s aid at the hospital in Hale Center. She was a member of Western Heritage Fellowship. Judy is survived by her husband R.W. Waller of Hale Center, TX; four daughters, Tammie Waller Allen & husband Ray of Hale Center, Becky Waller Perkinson & husband Rick of Hale Center, Rhonda Waller of Hale Center, and Robin Waller McGuire & husband Stacy of Brownwood; two brothers, LA Royal, Jr. of Edmonson, and Danny Hoffer of North Carolina; one sister, Brenda Levy of Hobbs, NM; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Pauline Waller of Hale Center. She is preceded in death by one son, Clifford Noah; her father Hollis “Cotton” Thorne and step mother, Noami Mur Thorne; her mother, Betty Royal and step father, LA Royal Sr.; one brother, Dwight Royal; and one sister, Sharon Thorne.
