Hortencia G. Huerta (Tulia)

Kress, Texas—Hortencia G. Huerta, 80, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Kress. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Kress with Father Marco Gonzalez and Deacon Joe Frausto officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary service will be held at the church on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Her body will lie in state at the church. Hortencia was born September 11, 1931 in Maxwell, Texas. She was a housewife. She married Jose Jesus Huerta and he died in 2007. “I loved it when my children would all meet at my house. We would cookout and then the games would begin, sometimes basketball, other times horseshoes and many times bingo. It would be a busy day when everyone started showing up and we would have a lot of food. Working on my yard always took a lot of little hands but they were always there to help. I am proud of my children they were always there for me. My children were my world and always will be. May God bless each and every one of you and your children.” She is preceded in death by two children: Janie Collazo and Freddie Huerta. She is survived by her children: Bobby Huerta of Kress, Jesus Huerta, Jr. of Tulia, Richard Huerta of Kress, Diana Bullock of Tulia, Angie Huerta of Kress, Diego Huerta of Tulia, Ray Huerta of Tulia, Sandy Huerta of San Marcos, Rosemary Sanchez of Kress and Lupe Huerta of Lockney, her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law” Robert Collazo of San Marcos, Jerry Don Bullock of Tulia, Maria Huerta of Lockney, Connie Huerta of Kress and Randy Plasencio of Kress, her brother: John Garcia of San Marcos and her sister: Esther Casarez of Lubbock, 34 grandchildren living all around the world and many, many great grandchildren.
