Tulia, Texas—O.B. Barnes, 79, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Stone, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. O.B. was born September 25, 1932 in Hale County. He grew up in Tulia and graduated Tulia High School. He married Ernestine Strange on August 7, 1955. He was a farmer and rancher. His hobbies included playing music, riding in Rodeo’s and raising Brahma cattle. He is survived by his wife: Ernestine Barnes of Tulia, one son: Mikeal Barnes and wife Debra of Tulia, one daughter: Jana Stephens and husband Max of Tulia, two brothers: David Barnes of Tulia and Jim Bob Barnes of Tulia, three sisters: Bette Cogdell of Tulia, Patte Damron of Tulia and April Oldfield of Plainview, three grandchildren: Blaine Barnes and wife Sarah of Tulia, Tim Barnes and wife Molly of Amarillo and Whitney Settles and husband Matt of Levelland, four great grandchildren: Degan Barnes and Kesler Barnes of Tulia and Raiden Stephens, and Eli Settles of Levelland and several nieces and nephews.
