Jeannie Trimble, 79, entered into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Dr. Tim Marrow officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Silverton Cemetery under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Trimble was born on March 25, 1933 in Silverton, Texas to Dee & Ruby Hughes Garvin. She was raised with her older sister Dorothy and younger brother Gerald, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Trimble was the captain of the Silverton basketball team and also played the trumpet in the band. She married her late husband Richard Trimble on July 21, 1951, two months before he left for the Korean War. They were married 54 years. One of her greatest joys was raising their two daughters, Linda and Julie. Another accomplishment was graduating from business college. She farmed, ranched, and combined with Richard throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Upon settling in Waco, Jeannie supported her family with many activities such as PTA volunteer and the best cheerleader for her daughters' sporting events. She also worked at HEB and Methodist Children's Home of Waco. Her home was always open to other family members when a place was needed and holidays for the children of the Methodist Home. In 1980, she and Richard moved to Vernon, Texas, where she received her real estate degree. Upon their move to Ravia, Oklahoma, Jeannie owned a successful real estate agency. Mrs. Trimble retired in 2002 and she and Richard moved to Plainview. Jeannie volunteered at FISH, Meals on Wheels, Llano Estacado museum, and at the Covenant hospital gift shop. She was recognized as volunteer of the month. Jeannie loved the hours she spent volunteering and helping others. She loved traveling, crocheting, baking, writing poetry, working outside or just being outside. Because of her outgoing personality, she was surrounded by many friends. She was having fun whether it was with the church or Sunday school class, auxiliary friends or playing cards or dominoes with neighbors or friends. She is survived by two daughters: Linda Gilliam and her husband Bobby and Julie Howington and her husband Michael both of Waco; three grandchildren: Luke Gilliam and his wife Jennifer, Rebekah Gilliam and Leah Gilliam; two great grandchildren: Caroline Gilliam and Travis Gilliam; one sister: Dorothy Blasingame of Waco and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
