Lenard V. Harper (Plainview)

Lenard Vance Harper 86, of Plainview, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 in Plainview. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Lenard was born January 9, 1926 to Homer and Lucy Harper in Lockney, Texas. He married Ruth Reddy on December 10, 1948. Lenard served in the Merchant Marines during World War II & Korean War. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. Lenard is survived by his wife, Ruth Harper of Plainview, TX; one daughter, Derinda Harper Sanders & husband Joe of Odessa; two sons, Douglas Brett Harper & wife Michelle of Albany, OR, and Lenard LaMont Harper & wife Vicki of Carolton, TX; one sister, Margaret Saul of Plainview, TX; four grandchildren, Nathan Sanders, Vance Sanders, Rebekah Harper, and Andrea Harper; and two great grandchildren, Cassie Sanders and Brayden Harper.
