Donnie Burl Roper (Tulia)

Donnie Burl Roper, age 82 of Tulia, Texas passed away on June 10, 2012. He was born on September 28, 1929 in Plainview, Texas to Eddie Ray Welch and Bailey Chapman Roper. He served in the U.S. Army. Donnie was a Farmer and farmed in Swisher County all his life. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Donnie is survived by his two daughters, LaJuan Roper and Little Elm, Texas and LaDawn Munn of Bridgeport, Texas; two grandchildren, Brittany Smith of Bridgeport, Texas and McKenzie Smith of Bridgeport, Texas; sister, Doris Rousseau of Tulia, Texas and several nieces and nephews. Donnie is preceded in death by his brother, Roy Roper, and parents, Eddie and Bailey Roper. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, June 15, 2012 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 14 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
