Rudy Martinez (Plainview)

Rudy Martinez, 50 of Hale Center, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his residence in Hale Center. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Rudy was born January 30, 1962 in Hale Center to Frank and Ophelia Martinez, Sr. Rudy was a musician and could sing. He also loved to cook and to go fishing. He was a physical therapist in Austin and Hale Center. He was a member of the Catholic Church and sang in the choir. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Lupe Martinez. He is survived by his daughter: Sophia Martinez of Lubbock, two sons: Marcus Sanders of Brownwood and Jonathan Bryant of Plainview, four brothers: Frank Martinez of Hale Center, Phillip Martinez of Friona, Victor Martinez and Robert Martinez, both of Hale Center, two sisters: Jane Cole of Florida and Linda Perez of Plainview and 2 grandchildren.
