Michael McLain (Plainview)

Michael McLain, 38, of Plainview, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at College Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Michael was born May 14, 1974 to Earl McLain and Judy & Don Macha in Plainview, TX. He grew up and attended schools here in Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High in 1992. He went to Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and later attended Wayland Baptist University. He married Cassie Newland on October 6, 2001 in Plainview. Working with cattle was in his blood as he made a career of it. He was currently working as manager at the Hale Center Feed Yard. He loved spending time with his daughter Sheridan, working with horses and cattle, gardening and fishing. Michael’s first love was Jesus and he was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Cassie McLain of Plainview; one daughter, Sheridan Grace McLain of Plainview; his father, Earl McLain of McLean, TX; his mother and stepfather, Judy & Donald Macha of Plainview; one brother, Monty McLain & wife Sandi of Perryton, TX; and one sister, Mendy Hopkins & husband James of Canyon, TX; his in-laws, Lonnie & Darla Newland. He is treasured by two sisters in law, Elyse and Tara Newland, and loved dearly by nephews, Darrian, Jace, Jordan, and Jayden and nieces Cheney & Jolie. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Grace McLain trust fund in care of Hale County State Bank.
