Violet Ruth Shackelford (Plainview)

Violet Ruth Shackelford, 87, of Plainview passed away on July 10, 2012 in Plainview. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the funeral home. Violet was born June 19, 1925 to Myles and Lena Hester in Douglas, Arizona. She graduated from Douglas High School. In the 1950’s she moved to Plainview where she attended First Assembly of God. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Roy Roberts for 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Myles & Lena; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her three children, Jackie Shaw & husband Phillip of Kermit, TX, Wallace Shackelford of Plainview, TX, and Ronnie Shackelford & wife Kay of Plainview, TX; seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
