Inez Cox (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Inez C. Cox, 86, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 16, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Inez was born on December 9, 1925 in Montague County, Texas to Louis and Marie Rossi. At the age of 2 they moved to San Francisco, CA and at the age of 4 they moved back to Texas where Mr. Rossi farmed. She attended schools at Union Hill and high school at Happy High School where she graduated in 1943. She moved to Amarillo and worked in the shipping office at the Amarillo Air Force Base. After the base closed she moved to Los Angeles, CA and worked in the office at the Douglas Air Plant. She returned to Amarillo in 1947 and worked in the Auditor’s office at the Herrington Hotel. She married Charles Cox on September 17, 1947 and raised 6 sons. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles died on October 8, 2012 and two sons: Gwayne Cox and Alex Cox. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law: Lance and Nadine Cox of Tulia, Val and Shane Cox of San Antonio, Eric and Angie Cox of Tulia and Thad and Toni Cox of Tampa Bay, Florida, a daughter-in-law; Shelly Cox Bayless, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
