Homer “Dicky” Miller, 61, of Plainview passed away on August 1, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at First Christian Church with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Our beloved Homer Dixon Miller, known best as Dicky, has been called home by his heavenly father. Dicky was born May 17, 1951 to Ralph and Xandra Miller in Lubbock, TX. He was married to Pamela Hawkins on October 10, 1969 in the First Christian Church in Plainview, TX. Dicky was a beloved husband, son, brother, father and grandfather. He was a long time dedicated employee of Pioneer Hi-Bred. He truly loved his work and the individuals who he worked with. Dicky was a member of the First Christian Church in Plainview. He was a life time member of NRA and in his younger years enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was known for refusing to give up until the job was done, and tireless dedication to customer service. Dicky was known and will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his playful teasing, and his gift of giving. When relaxing at home he enjoyed cooking outside on his grill, watching western movies, listening to his 50’s and 60’s music, relaxing in his favorite recliner and playing on his laptop computer. He was a good Christian man who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Pam Hawkins Miller of Plainview, TX; his father, Ralph Miller & wife Alice of Plainview; one daughter, Charlotte Harwell & husband Darin of San Antonio, TX; one son, Ted Miller & wife Brandy of Plainview, TX; one sister, Diane Williams & husband Mike of Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren, Tanner Miller, Daine Miller and Ashleigh Harwell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alexandra “Xandra” Miller. Memorial may be made to American Heart Association 2514 82nd St. Suite B, Lubbock, TX 79423.
