Doyce Dean “Mac” McCorkle, 76, of Hale Center passed away on August 4, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cameron. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held at 6 to 7 P.M. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mac was born on March 7, 1936 in Joy, Texas to the late Ben and Vietta McCorkle. He grew up in Joy and attended schools in Midway. He then attended Texas Tech University. Mac trained as Radiologic Technologist at Parkland Memorial in Dallas. He worked at the Hale Center Hospital for over 30 years before retiring in the early 1990’s. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Wilma Bailey on September 1, 1962 in Amarillo. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Bailey McCorkle of Hale Center; one brother, Marion McCorkle and wife Sherry of Wichita Falls; two sister-in-laws, Gwen McCorkle of Wichita Falls, Judy McCorkle of Archer City; and Many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by two children, Michael McCorkle, Pamela Michelle “Missy” McCorkle; three brothers, Bennie McCorkle, Bob McCorkle, Boyce Gene McCorkle. Memorials may be made to Hale Center Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service.
