Juan P. Esquivel (Plainview)

Juan P. Esquivel, 75, of Plainview went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 5, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Reymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Ralls Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the funeral home. Juan was born on January 8, 1937 to Agapito & Isadora Esquivel in Jimenez, Mexico. He grew up in Jimenez and then moved to the United States when he was 13 years old. He married Olivia Yannis on October 31, 1962. He was a farmer for 40 years in Petersburg, Floydada, and Claytonville. He later worked in the maintenance department of Wal-Mart Supercenter. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Olivia Esquivel of Plainview, TX; one daughter, Dora Garcia & husband Ricardo of Plainview, TX; five sons, Juan “Johnny” Esquivel of Amarillo, TX, Rudy Esquivel & wife Marivel of Floydada, TX, Oscar Esquivel & wife Sandy, Lynn Esquivel, and Leo Esquivel all of Plainview, TX; five brothers, Pedro, Beto, Arturo, Demincio, and Fidel Esquivel all of Mexico; one sister, Felicia Esquivel of Mexico; twenty one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Agapito & Isadora Esquivel; and one daughter, Olivia Esquivel. Memorial may be made to Area Community Hospice 3109 Olton Road, Ste C, Plainview, Texas 79072.
