Yolanda Jean Godsey Rodriguez, 58, of Plainview passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Claude Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Yolanda was born April 10, 1954 to Glen and Oralia Godsey in Olton, Texas. She graduated from Plainview High School. She became an R.N. and later received her Masters from Wayland Baptist University. She married Santos Rodriguez on September 1, 1979 in Plainview. She was a freelance writer for the Plainview Herald. She was a motivational speaker and also a singer and song writer. She liked art, ceramics and crafts. She was a member of Iglesia Bautista Date Street. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Glen E. and Oralia Godsey; and one brother, David E. Godsey. Yolanda is survived by her husband, Santos Rodriguez of Plainview, TX; one brother Lynn Godsey & wife Tana of Ennis, TX; two sisters, Corina Cavaness & husband Dave of San Angelo, TX, and Betty Lou Godsey of Hale Center; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Nathanial Sanchez and Madison Alexis Chavez; numerous foster children and several nieces and nephews.
