Philip Smith, 64, of Petersburg passed away in his home on August 17, 2012 in Petersburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Petersburg with Rev. Sharon Wiese officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Philip was born June 10, 1948 to Addison and Rachel Smith in Lubbock, Texas. He was raised in Wichita Falls, TX and graduated from Wichita Falls High. He attended Midwestern University where he met Jackie Roberts and they married on January 20, 1968. Philip was a master plumber and moved his family to Petersburg in 1977 to open Smith Service Company, which he owned and operated for 35 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist church in Petersburg and the Petersburg Lions Club. Philip enjoyed fishing and loved being outdoors, but his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife Jackie Smith of Petersburg, TX; three sons, Michael Smith & wife Sue Ann of Petersburg, TX, Kevin Smith & wife Kelly of Lorenzo, TX, and Keith Smith & wife Stephanie of Petersburg, TX; his mother, Rachel Smith of Wichita Falls, TX; three sisters, Zan Buchanan & husband Jay, Pam Rogers, and Rose Bowen all of Wichita Falls, TX; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Addison Smith.
