Dr. Edward Barker (Plainview)

Dr. Edward Barker, 78, of Plainview, passed away on August 26, 2012 in Lubbock. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 30, 2012. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 P.M. in the Kornerstone Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Edward was born August 3, 1934 to Joseph and Rose Barker in Detroit, MI. He graduated in 1968 from Chicago College of Osteopathy. He married Judy Morris, July 10, 1981. He enjoyed horse racing, politics, traveling, joking and outdoor activities. His passion was helping others through his career as a doctor and also in everyday life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Rose Barker; and eight siblings, Agnes, Catherine, Phillip, Anne, Lorraine, Paul, Theodore, and Rita Barker. He is survived by his wife, Judy Barker of Plainview, TX; nine children, Christopher Barker of Ft. Lupton, CO, Daniel & Missy Barker of Lake Stevens, WA, Veronica Cuschieri of Sammamish, WA, Margaret Barker of Lake Stevens, WA, Ed &Kelly Barker of Oakland Township, MI, Robbie Barker of Piedmont, MO, Joey &Ashley Barker of Lubbock, TX, Tony Barker of Lubbock, TX, and Michael Barker of Lubbock, TX; eleven grandchildren, Brian and wife Megan Barker, Abby, Lydia, and Shelby Barker, Hunter Barker, John & Sophia Cuschieri, Alexus, Jayden& Cayson Barker, and Tanner Layton; two great grandchildren, Hayden &Wyatt Barker; and five siblings, Emily & Steve Guarini, Peter Barker, Joseph& Penny Barker, George Barker, and Kenny Barker; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
