Tulia, Texas—Evelyn McCrary, 86, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Bruce Baird officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Evelyn was born February 4, 1926 in Littlefield. Her parents were S. B. and Zola Walker. She grew up in New Mexico and Hereford but graduated high school in Orange County, California in 1943. She married Thomas Jack McCrary on December 19, 1942. They lived in Tulia since 1959. She was a homemaker. She owned Montgomery Wards and later worked for H & R Block. She loved collecting butterflies, her recipes and cooking for her family. She was an active member of Central Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Her family includes two sons and daughters-in-law: Dwayne and Pam McCrary of Tulia and Dwight and Lynn McCrary of North Richland Hills, eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
