Eugene Green

Eugene Green, 71, of Petersburg passed away Friday, November 2, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 5, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Petersburg with Rev. Jessie Nave officiating and Mr. Ken Terrell assisting. Burial will be in Petersburg cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Eugene was born December 15, 1935 in Cameron, Texas. He grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1955. He started working in the grocery business at a young age. He worked as a store manager in Petersburg and was employed by Lowe’s since 1984. He semi-retired for a while, serving as a assistant manager before fully retiring in June of this year. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg. He married Joyce Sherling on Jan. 21, 1956 in Lubbock, Texas. His is survived by his wife Joyce Green of Petersburg; one daughter, Debbie Kay Terrell and husband Ken of Saginaw, Texas; one son, Curtis Wayne Green and wife Lizette of Canyon, Texas; one sister, Betty Koerner of Lubbock, Texas; four grandchildren, Chad Green of Irving, Texas, Michael Green of Groton, Connecticut, Bradley and Kaylee Terrell of Saginaw, Texas. A visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. The family suggests memorials to the Petersburg Cemetery Association.
