Anna Jean True, 81, of Plainview passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Plainview with Rev. Travis Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Anna Jean was born on June 3, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and her family moved to Plainview when she was very young. She attended schools in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1942, and then attended Lippert’s Business College. She worked for the rationing board during WWII. She married S.M. True, Jr. on February 17, 1946 in Plainview, Texas. She was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker. She was devoted to her husband, traveling with him and serving as his biggest supporter and critic. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Harmony Sunday School class, Snyder Junior Home Demonstration Club, and served as the First Lady of Texas Farm Bureau for 11 years. She was awarded the Woman of the Year for the Texas Extension Service for 2007. Anna Jean is survived by her husband, S.M. True, Jr. of Plainview; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda True of Lubbock, Texas; two grandchildren, Blaine True of Lubbock, and Larissa True of Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo Roberts and Beuna Vista Roberts; and one brother, Billy Roberts. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church Activity Center, 1001 W. 7th Street, Plainview, Texas 79072.
