Nazareth, Texas— Margaret Birkenfeld, 89, died Sunday July 10, 2005 in Tulia, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Ken Keller officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cathlolic Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Birkenfeld was born February 23, 1916 in Evansville, Indiana. She grew up in Waterflow, N.M. and attended grade school there. She graduated from Loretta Academy High School in Santa Fe, N.M. She moved to Nazareth in 1939. She married Clarence Joseph Birkenfeld on October 28, 1941 in Nazareth. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1983. Mrs. Birkenfeld was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and belonged to the Christian Mothers. Survivors include two daughters, Delores Gerber of Hereford, Texas, and Evelyn Albracht of Nazareth; five brothers, Jack, Herman, Jim Wethington all of Farmington, N.M. and Ed and Sarge Wethington of Waterflow, N.M.; three sisters, Millie Gaylor and Tina Yows of Farmington, N.M. and Pat Nichols of Waterflow, N.M.; five grandchildren, Raef Albracht of Clovis, N.M., Stacy Wilhelm of Amarillo, Shelly Huseman of Tulia, Dana Kleman of Nazareth, and Ryan Gerber of Nazareth; and thirteen great grandchildren. A Rosary will be held on Moday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the CCD Building at the Holy Family Catholic Church. The family suggest memorials to: Meals on Wheels or the Senior Citizens
