Mavis Williamson, 85, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Covenant Hospital in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 23, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Lewis Holland officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Williamson was born on February 14, 1922 in Rule, Texas and attended schools there. She married J.J. Williamson on February 28, 1939 in Haskell, Texas. Mr. Williamson worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, which means they lived in many different communities. They moved to Plainview in 1952 where she worked at Payne’s Gifts and Jewelry for 15 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Harmony Sunday School class. She is survived by her husband, J.J. Williamson of Plainview; a daughter, Lucy Ferrell and husband Jim of Plainview; a son, Charles Williamson and wife Cindy Marietta of Santa Fe, N.M.; a sister, Eunice Hunt of Ennis, TX; one grandson, John David Ferrell of Marble Falls, TX; and one great grandson, Sean Ferrell of Marble Falls, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nanny McCaul; and two sisters, Opal Simpson and Clara McCain.
