Joyce Lee Whitehead (Plainview)

Memorial service for Joyce Whitehead, 76, will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Rev. Raymond Bowlin, a retired Pastor and Brother-in-law, and Dr. Travis Hart of First Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Whitehead died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at 2:07 p.m at her residence after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born December 21, 1928 in Abilene Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1946. She married Truitt Whitehead October 19, 1947 in Amarillo. The Whiteheads moved to Plainview in 1960 and she was a member of First Baptist Church of Plainview. She is survived by her husband Truitt Whitehead of Plainview; one daughter Lou Ann Hinn and her husband John of Amarillo; one son Steve Whitehead and his wife Cindy of Dallas; two sisters Mrs. Raymond (Ollie) Bowlin of Amarillo, Opal Veach of Morro Bay, California; four grandchildren Paul Whitehead, Whitney Whitehead of Dallas, Nathan Hinn, Addison Hinn of Amarillo; her care givers Pat Jackson, Estella Flores of Plainview. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Brenda Whitehead Martin, 1999, Randall Martin, 1997; Her parents Lucy Mary McKay and Walter McCutchin Everitt.
