Lloyd Glynn Smith, 82, died Friday, July 15, 2005 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in the First Christian Church with Rev. Karel Smith, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born May 13, 1923 in Plainview, Texas to Ira Lee and Emily Smith. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1940 where he played cornet in the Band. He was an enthusiastic member of the Jersey Cattle Club. He farmed in Swisher County and operated the Continental Oil Co. Warehouse and delivered fuel to area farmers. He was a faithful member of the Tulia First Christian Church where he did not miss a church service in 42 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Mildred Smith of Tulia and Kathryn Richardson of Borger, and two brothers; Gene Smith and Weldon Smith of Glendale, California. He is survived by one sister Helen Phillips and her husband Herman Phillips of Amarillo, Texas and three nephews and one niece.
