Sarah Howard, 80, died Monday, July 18, 2005 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Howard was born October 17, 1924 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. She grew up in Bowlegs and graduated from high school there. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M Universtiy with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Wallace Howard on May 4, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and school teacher and later became a school administrator. She taught schools in Bowlegs, Seminole, Drumright and Cushing, Oklahoma and Farmington, New Mexico. Retiring in 1982 they moved back to Seminole, Oklahoma. They moved to Tulia in 1998. Mr. Howard died February 17, 2001. She was very active in the Methodist churches where they lived as a Sunday School teacher and church pianist. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, National Federation of Women’s Club and First United Methodist Church of Tulia. She is survived by her daughter: Terressa Leonard of Farmington, NM, Her son and daughter-in-Law; Ben and Susan Howard of Tulia, Texas; four grandchildren, Chad and Carol Howard of Clovis, NM, Sarah and Michael Allen of Lubbock, Missy Howard of Lubbock, and Brady and Heather Lane of Farmington, N.M.; two great granddaughters, Tylynn Lane of Farmington, N.M. and Madison Howard of Clovis, NM.
