Shane Tippit (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Jerry Shane Tippit, 69, passed away on November 21, 2007 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia with Rev. Eddy Helms officiating and Rev. James Hassell assisting. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Tippit was born on July 7, 1938 in Roland, Oklahoma. He grew up in Roland and attended schools there. He worked in the oil fields when he lived in Oklahoma. He married Vickie Liles in 1980. They moved to Tulia in 1984 and he worked for Swisher Feed Lot and he also drove a school bus for many years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; Vickie Tippit of Tulia, two sons; Dusty Tippit and wife Alyssa of Kermit, Texas, Tyrell Tippit of Tulia, two brothers; Jimmy Tippit of Cedarville, Arkansas and Sam Tippit of Van Buren, Arkansas, one sister; Pat Hawkins of Plainview, Texas, and one grandson; Pacen Tippit of Kermit, Texas The family suggest memorials to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
