Tulia, Texas—Lynn Childers, 62, died Friday, October 12, 2012 in Tulia. Graveside services will held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia with Rev. Eddie Helms and Mr. Brian West officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Lynn was born on February 3, 1950 in Wellington to W. V. and Ruth Childers. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1968 and attended WT. He then traveled to Alaska and worked as a cook on the Alaskan pipeline. He spent a few years in Portland, Oregon. He returned to Tulia in 1980 where he went to work for North Plains Compress as a foreman until 1993. He was employed with Tulia Trading Post as store manager until 2003. He worked for Swisher Electric since 2003 as a meter reader. He was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church. His passion was being a caregiver to many people in Tulia and he loved being a part of the farming community. He is preceded in death by his father; W.V. Childers. He is survived by his mother; Ruth Childers of Tulia, two brothers; Billy Don Childers and wife Marcia of Dallas and Joe Childers and wife Kay of Round Rock, four nephews; Donnie Childers and wife Tammy of Tulia, Rick Childers and wife Missy of Bushland, Chris Childers of Howardwick and Steve Childers and wife Shanna of Austin, one niece; Mendie Rafani and husband Massey of Los Angeles, his great nieces and nephews; Vanessa Childers, Kacey Childers, Kylie Childers, Zane Childers, Jakob Childers and Conner Childers, and one great, great niece; Olivia Pogue. Also his aunts and uncles; Jeanette Jones of Amarillo, Ronetta Miller of Amarillo, Dale Young of Dumas, Dean Young of Amarillo and Glenn Young of Ft. Worth. Memorials may be made to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Rd., Plainview, Texas, 79072.
