Lavonne Schrock Hodel, 100, of Plainview, passed away on October 11, 2012 at her home in Plainview. Graveside services will be held in Plainview Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M Tuesday, October 16, 2012 with Rev. David Hawkins pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hodel was born on April 3, 1912, to Arthur and Georgia Schrock in Protection, Kansas. She moved with her parents to the Bellview Community in 1918, where they farmed for many years. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1929 and attended Lipperts Business School and attended Wayland College briefly. She married Bob Crenshaw in 1938. They owned and operated the Crenshaw Paint and Glass Company until her husband became ill and passed away in October 1954. She worked for several businesses including Granada Gift Shop and Blasinggames Tea Room. She was on the Plainview Cemetery Association Board for 19 years, served on the Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the NON club, a member of Eastern Star, and was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church, and later First Presbyterian Church. She married W.G. (Bill) Hodel of Lockney on October 8, 1964. He passed away on June 28, 1993. She is survived by a step-son, William Michael Hodel and wife Dottie of Corpus Christi, TX; grandson, Andrew Hodel; nephew, Bob Castleberry and wife Ann, and a niece, Ann Stair and husband Charles all of Plainview; great nieces, Susan Feasel, Leianne Kalisek, Sherry Adams, and Jill Blevins, and many great-great nieces and nephews.
