J.J. Williamson, 89, of Plainview passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 24, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating and Dr. Max Browning assisting. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Williamson was born on December 11, 1918 in Wise County, Texas and grew up in Haskell. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1937. He married Mavis McCaul on February 28, 1939 in Haskell, Texas. Mr. Williamson worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad so they lived in many different communities. They moved to Plainview in 1952. He retired in 1978 after 40 plus years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Harmony Sunday School class. He was also the Past President of the Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Williamson on November 20, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Ada Williamson; a brother, Quinton Williamson and a sister, Odell Bynum. He is survived by a daughter, Lucy Ferrell and husband Jim of Plainview; a son, Charles Williamson and wife Cindy Marietta of Santa Fe, N.M.; one grandson, John David Ferrell of Marble Falls, TX; and one great grandson, Sean Ferrell of Marble Falls, TX; and a brother, Lynn Williamson of Oklahoma City, OK.
