Billie Dean Craig (Plainview)

Billie Dean Craig, 79, of Plainview, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Ninth & Columbia Church of Christ with Colquitt Nash, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Craig was born June 28, 1926 in Lockney to Hugh and Modina Trussell. She graduated from Lockney High School and moved to Plainview where she attended Watson’s Business College. She married Gene Craig October 15, 1948 in Kress, Tx Mrs. Craig began her business career as bookkeeper for Thatcher Printing Company in Plainview which sold to Eaton-Sudduth Stationery which later became Eaton Stationery. She became a partner and it became Eaton – Craig Stationery. She later became sole owner until her retirement. Mrs. Craig was an active member of Ninth & Columbia Church of Christ where she taught the Toddler Bible Class for many years. She was also active in civic organizations including Soroptimist, Women’s Chamber of Commerce and La Casa Club. She is survived by her husband, one sister Mary Beth Calloway of Canyon, Tx, Six Nieces and 1 Nephew. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
