Tulia, Texas— Betty Knutson, 73, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 in Tulia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Neusch, pastor officiating with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Betty was born to Mary and Joe Lang on August 4, 1934 in Tiffin, Ohio where she grew up and attended schools. She married Don Knutson on October 5, 1964 in Tiffin and they moved to Marfa, Texas in 1964. They moved to Tulia in 1969. She worked in the Tulia High School cafeteria for over 20 years. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Although poor health persisted over the last few years she showed her love and concern for others by sending cards, notes and pictures. She will be greatly missed by her husband, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who loving called her Grandma. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E. Sunrise Dr., Tucson, AZ 85718. She is preceded in death by her mother and step-father; Mary and Dale Sharpe, two brothers; Bobby Lang and Danny Sharpe and one sister; Pat Bright. She is survived by her husband; Don Knutson of Tulia, two daughters; Sue Glenn of Tulia and Lisa Maloy Johnston of Dallas, two sons; Tim Maloy of Amarillo and Heath Knutson of Tulia, three sisters; Mary Wilson and Linda Sharpe both of Tiffin, Ohio and Mitzi Sturzu of California, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
