Gene Craig (Plainview)

Gene Craig, 82, of Plainview, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2005 at Ninth & Columbia Church of Christ with Colquitt Nash, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Craig was born May 8, 1923 in Sherman, Texas to Cecil B. and Lilian May Craig. He graduated from Plainview High School and served in the Army during WWII as a radar technician. He married Billie Dean Trussell on October 15, 1948 in Kress, Texas. She passed away on August 10, 2005. Mr. Craig retired from Southwestern Public Service Company after thirty eight years of employment. He had a great love for airplanes and held a pilots license. Mr. Craig served on the airport board and was a member of Ninth & Columbia Church of Christ. He is survived by one brother Douglas Craig of Bellingham, Washington; Six nieces and one nephew.
