Ray L. McKinney (Plainview)

Ray McKinney, 87, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Plainview. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Plainview Memorial Park with Chaplain, Oscar Chavez, of Area Community Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Ray was born August 23, 1925 in Lazbuddie, TX to Vard & Rebecca McKinney. He enlisted in the US Army in 1941 after being discharged from the Army he enlisted in the US Air Force. He retired from military service in 1962. He married Maria Dudel on February 28, 1953 in Freising, Germany. They lived in Wyoming where he opened up a Locksmith Business. He moved back to Plainview in 2009. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria McKinney; his mother and stepfather, Rebecca and J. Gillilan; two brother, James and R.D. McKinney. He is survived by his stepson, Gerhard W. McKinney & wife Mary of Plainview; two grandchildren, Debra Gilbreath & husband Todd, and Michael McKinney of Plainview; and five great grandchildren, Hunter, Alexis and Jaycie McKinney, and Brooklyn and Braxton Gilbreath.
