T.D. Evans (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—T.D. Evans, 83, of Tulia, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kay Reed and Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Evans was born March 14, 1924 in Swisher County, Texas. He moved to the Rhea Community north of Bovina where he grew up and graduated from Bovina High School. He moved back to Tulia and continued farming. He married Bessie Lee Wood on June 11, 1944 in Tulia. They farmed north of Tulia until 1986. Bessie died November 5, 1985. He retired in 1986 and went to work for Kenneth Wyatt Galleries. He married Francis Cloyd on March 27, 1992 and she died March 24, 2000. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters; Linda Evans Alford, Sandra Oringderff and Nancy Nickels all of Lubbock, one son; David Evans of Nazareth and one sister-in-law; Dessie Evans of Tulia, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
