Hershel Henderson (Plainview)

Hershel Henderson, 85, of Plainview, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Eddie Curry, Minister of Education of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Henderson was born on November 9, 1919 in Hale Center to James M. and Ella D. Moore Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a life time resident of Plainview. He served in the Army during WWII in the medical core. He married Doris Ann Armstrong in Meadow on February 6, 1948. The Henderson’s moved to Plainview shortly after being married. He worked as a carpenter which he never retired from. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Doris; two sons Allan Henderson and his wife Beverly of San Angelo, Ted Henderson of Hemet, California; two brothers Edell Henderson of Dennison, Gene Henderson of Lewisville; three sisters Evalene McDonald of Plainview, Inez Hill of Wichita, Kansas, Jessie Stanton of Culver, California; three granddaughters. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1984, Plainview, TX 79072 or First Baptist Church Building Fund, 205 W. 8th, Plainview, TX 79072. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
