Stephen Clyde Taylor(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Stephen Taylor, 84, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms, pastor officiating, burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Taylor was born December 28, 1923 in Runningwater Draw, Texas where he grew up and attended schools. He joined the US Army in 1943 and served until 1946 when he returned to Plainview and worked as a diesel mechanic. He married Ladine Stewart on November 8, 1952. They moved to Kress in 1977. Mr. Taylor retired from Excel in 1995 and they moved to Waurika, Oklahoma. They moved to Tulia in 2003. Survivors include his wife, Ladine Taylor of Tulia; one daughter, Debbie Crawford and husband Greg of Tulia; two sons, David Taylor of Flower Mound, Texas and Virgil Taylor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
