Tulia, Texas—Alice Lawson, 82, died Friday, December 7, 2012 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, December 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Alice was born November 14, 1930 in Hamilton County, Texas to Henry and Edna Endebrock. She grew up and attended schools at Aleman and graduated from Hamilton High School. She was a telephone operator in Hamilton. She married James Lawson on January 28, 1950 in Hamilton. She worked at Bob’s Supermarket and B & R Thriftway in Tulia, The Spudnut Shop and S & S Meat Co. in Plainview and also Tulia Wheat Growers. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tulia. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: James Lawson on June 15, 1996, her sister: Charlene Kunkel, a son-in-law: Mac Shugart, and three grandsons: Michael Edwards, Danny Steffe and Jacob Brett King. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda and Roger Edwards of Plainview, Jan and Steve Steffe of Plainview, Pam and Craig Wingate of Mansfield and Betsy and David King of Tulia, eleven grandchildren: Kesha and Michael Coniglio, Andrew and Susan Artho, Kevin and Lacy Blunt, Lauren and Chester Williams, April Wingate, Emily Wingate, Haylee King, JW King, Michelle and Steven Cross, Christy and Ken May and Nicole Steffe, seventeen great grandchildren: Sadie Claire Edwards, Rachel Artho, Alex Artho, Kade Blunt, Kyle Blunt, Kaylee Williams, Blake Williams, Michael and Cindy Cross, Matt and Bethany Cross, Elizabeth Cross, Carrie Cross, John May, Morgan Smock, Camron Smock, Rylee Smock, Carlie and Keenan Haught and Christine McClendon, and two great, great grandchildren: Ethan Cross and Emma Cross. Memorials may be made the Alzheimer’s Association, 415 West Eighth Ave., Ste. 300, Amarillo, TX 79101.
