Virginia Sears (Plainview)

Virginia Lois Denson Sears, 73, of Plainview, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Lubbock. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. in Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield, TX with Dr. Carl Moman officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at the funeral home. Virginia was born January 2, 1939 to Clarence and Virginia Denson in Brownfield, Texas. She graduated from Brownfield High School and attended Texas Tech University where she graduated with honors and received a Bachelors and two Masters Degrees. She taught in Brownfield, Kress and Plainview where her excellence in teaching was recognized. She retired from teaching after over 30 years of service. She married Kelly Mack Sears on August 12, 1960 in Brownfield, TX. She served on the Plainview Symphony Board and was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her family. Virginia was an active member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Mack Sears of Plainview, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Gonzalez & husband Luis of Austin, TX; one son, Gregory Sears & wife Laura of New Braunfels, TX; two brothers, Kent Denson of San Antonio, TX and Jennings Denson of Lubbock, TX; one sister, Juanema Hinson of Lubbock, TX; and one granddaughter, Abigail Sears.
