William Kirk "Bill" Hulsey,Jr., 70, of Corinth passed away on Saturday December 22, 2012. A service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursay December 27, 2012, in the First Presbyterian Church, Tulia, Texas officiated his nephew, David Lee Hulsey, Jr. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Bill was born on May 25, 1942 in Tulia, Texas to William Kirk Hulsey, Sr. and Mary Poppy(Galbreath) Hulsey. He graduated from Tulia High School, and recieved a B.S. in Physical Education from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Masters in Education from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. After college he served as a 1LT in Army Signal Corp USAR, and served in Thailand. He taught Junior High and High School classes of mostly physical education and was an athletic coach of many sports but mostly girls basketball. He coached in TX cities of: Boling, Turkey, Hobbs, Happy, Wolforth, and Paint Rock. He was named South Plains Coach of the Year twice and was a member of Texas High School Girls Coaching Association. His hobbies included fishing, nature, and music. He married Cynthia Lou (Kerr) on October 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Lou, daughter Tracy (Hulsey) Asmus and husband Kevin, step-daughter Lauren Featherston, sister Jane Burrow and husband Ken; brother Chappy Hulsey, and brother David Hulsey and wife DeeDee (Palomino); and many beloved students and athletes, coaches and friends. The family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
