Billy Earl (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Billy Earl, 56, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms and Rev. James Sain officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Billy was born Eldon William Earl on January 21, 1952 in Garden City, Kansas. He was raised in the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco and moved to Tulia his senior year where he attended and graduated Tulia High School. He married Debbie Boyett on August 22, 1981 in Tulia. After working for Barbour Bros. one year and then two years with the City of Tulia he started working in the Tulia ISD maintenance department and worked there for the past 24 years. He was the maintenance supervisor. He was also a member of the Tulia Volunteer Fire Department and after 20 years he retired in 2002. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; Debbie Earl of Tulia, one daughter and son-in-law; Michelle and Steve Geries of Yukon, Oklahoma, one son and daughter-in-law; Jeremy and Kendra Earl of Tulia, one brother; Bobby Bradley of Ada, Oklahoma, one sister; Elaine Milam of Lubbock, his mother-in-law; Dorothy Boyett of Tulia, four grandchildren; Brittany Earl and Cameron Earl, both of Tulia and Lindi Geries and Bailee Geries, both of Yukon, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents; Eldon and Ethel May Earl and one daughter; Aleesha Earl. Memorials may be made to the Tulia Volunteer Fire Department.
