Colleen Campbell (Plainview)

Colleen Campbell, 85, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Edmonson with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield, TX. A visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the funeral home. Colleen was born May 20, 1927 to Virgil and Mettie McMillen in Wilson, Oklahoma. She graduated Morton High School. She married Ira Kenneth Campbell on June 10, 1944 in Olton, TX. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a children’s teacher at First Baptist Church in Olton. She also was a Cub Scout leader. Colleen will always be remembered for being a loving wife and mother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mettie McMillen; and one brother, Delmer McMillen. She is survived by her husband, Ira Kenneth Campbell of Plainview, TX; two sons, Ira Lynn Campbell of Bristow, VA and Dewayne Campbell of Littlefield, TX; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial be made to American Cancer Society 3513 10th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79415.
