Martha Mangum Sims, 65, of Plainview, passed away at 11:49 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Covenant Hospital of Plainview. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2005 at North Side Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Foote, pastor, officiating. Cremation and memorial services are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Sims was born on August 8, 1940 in Whitesboro to Roy Taylor and Sara Lurlene Tipton Mangum. She grew up in Plainview and had received her GED. She married Bobby Sims, June 2, 1979 in Plainview. She had worked at Hale County State Bank for 6 years before moving to Hale Center where she worked at First National Bank, now Security Bank, of Hale Center for 15 years. She is survived by her husband Bobby; one son Todd Walker and his wife Lisa of Plainview; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Leon and Arlice Sims of Kingsland, Richard and Edith Sims of Plainview, Don and Sally Kelly of Frederick, Okla., Bert McClary of Wichita Falls, Charlie and Sharrion Sims of Plainview; two aunt’s: Lora Mae Vaughn of Tioga, Minnie Casey of Abernathy.
