Tulia, Texas—Adelina G. Saldana, 77, of Amarillo, formerly of Tulia, died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 17, 2013 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Adelina was born December 10, 1935 in Ballenger to Jesse and Eloisa Gomez. She grew up in Ballenger. She was a migrant worker spending some time in Nebraska. She moved to Tulia in 1949. She was married to Federico Saldana, Sr. for about 18 years. She worked for El Camino Restaurant and Keeter Meat Company in Tulia. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit while living in Tulia. She moved to Amarillo in 1986 and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and she was a member of the Guadalupanas. She is preceded in death by her parents and one son: John David Saldana. She is survived by three daughters: Gloria Barrera of Amarillo, Barbara Alvarado of Amarillo and Delia Ybarra and husband Bisente of Plainview, two sons: Federico Saldana, Jr. and wife Trinidad of Amarillo and Ramon Saldana of Amarillo, one daughter-in-law: Mary Saldana of Tulia, two brothers: Robert Gomez and David Gomez, both of Tulia, five sisters: Alice Saldana of Tulia, Dolores Turner of Lubbock, Lofferia Galvan of Lubbock, Pauline Galvan of Lubbock and Bessie Vargas of Amarillo, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
