Tulia, Texas--Maria Del Refugio Martinez, 67, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Tulia. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, January 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Maria was born July 4, 1945 in Fronteria, Mexico to Refugio and Francisca Castillo. She was raised in Mission, Texas. She was a housewife. She married Juan Manuel Martinez on January 20, 1964. They have lived in Tulia for 42 years. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. She is survived by her husband: Juan Martinez of Tulia, three daughters: Elizabeth Deleon of Tulia, Herlinda Benavides of Tulia and Yesania Turner of San Antonio, four sons: Santos Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Jesus Martinez and Jose Martinez all of Tulia, her mother: Francisca Castillo of Tulia, one brother: Francisco Castillo of California, four sisters: Eube Reyna of Tulia, Pauline Garza of Tulia, Laticia Contreras of Tulia and Eulila Casarez of Waco, 25 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great, great, granddaughter.
