Herman "Herb" Beasley (Plainview)

Herman “Herb” Beasley, 77, of Lubbock passed away on January 18, 2013 in Lubbock. Military Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock with Oscar Chavez, Chaplain of Area Community Hospice of Plainview officiating. Herb was born on February 10, 1935 in Browder, Kentucky to John David Beasley and Opher Opal (Hall) Beasley. He grew up in Central City, Kentucky and attended schools there. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and served over 20 years as a Hydraulics Mechanic working on many different types of aircraft. His military service took him all over the world including France, England, Spain, and Vietnam. He was stationed in Florida, Big Spring, and Lubbock before retiring from Reese Air Force Base in 1974. After his service to his country, Herb went to work for Texas Instruments and retired from them in 1994. They moved back to Lubbock to be closer to their family. He was a Baptist. He was a life member of the VFW, and the Disabled American Veterans. Herb married Beth Hudson on April 13, 1973 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Miller; three brothers, E.T. Beasley, John David Beasley, Jr., Therman Beasley; four sisters, Lottie Marrier, Lossie Helsle, Aline Walker, and Fay Beasley. Survivors include his wife Beth Beasley of Lubbock; two daughters, Brandy Seright and husband John of Memphis, Texas, Kathy Gregory and husband Tony of Plainview; four grandchildren, Missy Denson and husband Marcus of Buffalo Gap, Texas, Matt Gregory and wife Jenifer of Plainview; Shaylee Seright and Sean Seright of Memphis, Texas; four great grandchildren, Colter Denson, Kinsley Denson, Kamryn Gregory, Mason Gregory; three brothers and two sisters, Bill Beasley of Greenville, Kentucky, Ray Beasley and wife Sue of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Omar Beasley and wife Pat of Illinois, Naoma Edwards and husband Charles of North Carolina, Dorothy Elkins and husband Carroll of Madisonville, Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lubbock or the Diabetes Association.
